Held at the Mellon Auditorium in Washington D.C., American Competitiveness was an event to showcase GE’s history of innovation and its contributions to the economy. For this event, we developed a number of programs, including gesture-based presentations, multi-touch projection tables, iPad-controlled mediascapes and an immersive interactive environment that connects the key job-creation initiatives of G.E. to its target audience.

I was the creative lead of this project. With zero physical displays to pair with the minimal architectural structure, innovation is the design keyword from the very beginning. For a while, I was stuck in an ordinary world and couldn't sketch anything that interests me. My breakthrough came from the moment when spotting this white vase design with the impression of emerging from a surface. At that exact moment, I was clear what the UX should be for the first interactive. And then everything started to fall into place.
